Gold or Silver band rings with Icelandic Black Sand
All items are handmade and are one of a kind from foraged wild and domesticated plants. I collect whatever is in season on my daily walks, usually in the Philadelphia area. The composition of my pieces range from traditional (using whole, pressed flowers and leaves) to more abstract. Each piece involves laying jewelry-grade resin in several layers, over several sittings.
All handmade jewelry will have natural imperfections, and that’s what gives each piece their alluring details, originality and soulful nature. Variations and "imperfections" are not unwelcome.
4mm bands, E nickel-free and plated with 24k gold or .999 fine silver, with 6mm cabochon, pearl backed, overlaid with black sand foraged from my trip to Iceland in October 2018. I only took a small handful (plus the contents that were inside of my shoes) and am working with it grain by grain. This sand is from Vik, the famous black sand beach on the country’s southern coast, collected during 40mph winds and a bit of freezing rain. All rings are size 7.
