My famous calendula healing balm
I came upon this simple but perfect recipe for healing salve about 15 years ago, when I was going through a phase were I was making all of my body products. I was looking for something completely natural, and did a better job protecting and healing my skin than aloe or commercial products.
Organic olive oil is infused for days with organic calendula, than mixed with high quality yellow beeswax, and finished with a few drops of rosemary and citrus essential oils. That's it, and this stuff is magic. It conditions, it cools, and when used in combination with a hydrosol, locks moisture into the skin.
It heals burns so well that I've been told that I must have been burned as a witch in a past life, and in this life, my gift is in soothing other's traumatized epidermals. True story: immediately after severely burning myself on a 400 degree oven, I applied my healing salve to the affected area, and a burn never developed!
I have seven jars left over from this season's market run. 4 oz glass jars that will last about a year (it's stabilized in beeswax, but it also has no preservatives.)
